Sorry for the clichéd headline. I’m still reeling from an actual headline I saw in this morning’s paper, that was so good I was scared to read the actual story. FLORIDA MONKEYS EXPLAINED, it said. Who can top that?
This is the first of what will be a flurry of new tasting reports over the next couple weeks. I deeply enjoyed writing it. It was also hard, because I needed to tap into an elusive talent, to try and explicate the obscure. Nothing about Weingut Hirsch is exactly obvious. It took time.
