A VOICE IN THE WIND – 2023 FROM GOLDATZEL

It is at best melancholy and at worst criminal that this superb estate lacks an American importer. For my stateside readers, it hurts me that you can’t obtain these, but I feel responsible to taste absorbedly and comment truthfully, “for the record” if you will, but mostly because the wines and the people warrant the close attention of every wine expert. Since I couldn’t scare up an actual wine expert, you’re stuck with me….
Johannes Gross sees me, I suppose, as a colleague/consultant. We look at wine in similar ways, and he knows how deeply I approve of his work. Readers in Europe should put this estate in their address books, while American readers know as well as I do how strong the headwind is today for anything that looks the least bit risky. Sooner or later this estate will be “picked up,” and I myself will always be happy that our paths crossed for a few years in business, and continue to cross in the current moment as fellow wine lovers.
